Persian filigree, originated from Achaemenid dynasty is the art of creating decorative objects, using thin golden, copper or silver wire, putting them on patterns and then soldering them together. Zanjan which is the birthplace of the art in Iran is still one of the bests in production the handicrafts. For a long time it was only Zanjan that produced filigree objects, but during Pahlavid dynasty some of the craftsmen migrated to Tehran and Isfahan and propagated the art in other parts of the country.
