Afghan Urial or Ovis Vignei Cycloceros can be found in west of Central Asisa, from nostheast part of Iran and west of Kazakhstan to Pakistan. The animal lives on green slopes below the timberline. Urials seldom prefer to go to the rocky mountains. In north of Iran, together with Asiatic Mouflon, they produce hybrids under natural conditions. Grass is the main source of food for Urials but they also eat the tree leaves and bushes.
Male Urials have huge horns which curl outward from head top to behind its head and may grow over 1 meter. The female one's horns are shorter and compressed. The average height of an adult male one can reach to 80 to 90 centimeters. Afghan Urial is an attractive target for those who are interested in hunting in Iran!
