The Armenians are another minority in Iran. The estimated population of Armenians in Iran is 80 to 120 thousand people who mostly live in Tehran, Isfahan and Tabriz. This group had an important role in modernizing Iran during 19th and 20th century.  The Iranian Armenians are the largest group of Christian people in the country right now and have 2 members in Iranian parliament. The language of these people is Armenian and Persian. Despite the preservation of their cultural identity and language, the Armenians have patriotic senses toward Iran and many of them were martyred druring the 8-year war.
