Tiregan

"Tiregan" celebration or "Ab Pashoon" (water splashing) has been held on Tir 13 since old times in Iran. Tiregan was considered very important in old times along with the other big celebrations of ancient Iranians like Noweouz and Sade celebration. Ab Pashoon generally is held near natural water sources and the attendants would try to make each other happy and splash water over one another. The reason why Tiregan is held, some people say: "this celebration is held on the anniversary of the day that "Arash the Archer" released his arrow", but others say: " it's held to commemorate 'Tishtrya' (God of rain) and people splash water for avoiding drought and wish for rain."
