Khorramabad

Khorramabad is located amid the valleys of Zagros mountain range. The city has been one of the first settlements of Iranian people and there's been discovered some sings of cave-settlement dating back to Mousterian, Baradostian and Zarzian culture around the city. Falak-ol-Aflak Castle

Falak-ol-Aflak Castle is the most well-known historical place in the city of Khorramabad. The Castle was established in Sasanid era (about 1600 years ago) and has been used as a governmental place during different dynasties. Falak-ol-Aflak is the icon of Khorramabad city.

 

 

     

 

 

 

Shekaste Bridge (Shapuri Bridge)

Locating at the south part of Falak-ol-Aflak, Shekasteh Bridge is one the architectural masterpieces of Sasanid era. The bridge was a link between "Lorestan" and "Ctesiphon", the capital of Sasanids.

 

 

 

 

 

Brick Minaret of Khorramabad

The 30-meter brick minaret of Khorramabad is a 900-year building. The tower was originally used in old times to help the caravans not to get lost and find the city of "Shapur" easily.
