Rasht is the capital city of Gilan province in the north of Iran, near the Caspian Sea coast. The city which is famous for its green nature, beautiful shiny seaside, wet climate, and unique cuisine attracts many people from different countries to have an Iran trip. In Rasht cuisine, various delicious dishes are served and fish is often the dominant part. Rasht joined UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2015 for its rich gastronomy. It is known as "the Gate of Europe" for it connects Iran to Russia and Europe. Rasht is also famous for the large amount of raining it receives during the year. Rice and tea are the main products of the city.
Some of the few historical sites of the city are Safi Mosque, Mausoleum of Mirza Kuchak Khan Jangali and Rasht Museum. Summer is not a good season for visiting the city since it's hot and humid.
