Naghsh-e Rustam

Naghsh-e Rustam

One of the oldest and most amazing sites you can see in your trip to Iran is Naghshe Rustam. Naghsh-e Rustam is located 5 kilometers away from Takht-e Jamshid in Marvdasht. In addition to 4 Achaemeni kings' tomb located in Hajiabad mountain, there are also some bas reliefs from Elamite, Achaemenids and Sasanid era ranging from 1200 BC to 625 AC and a stone construction named "Kabe Zartosht". Kabe Zartosht which stands in front of the mountain is believed to be a calendar to determine the days of the year. The tombs which are located in the heart of mountain belong to 4 Achaemenid kings: Darius I, Xerxes I, Artaxerxes I and Darius II. Naghsh-e Rustam is one of the places you can't miss in your Iran tour package!
