In your Iran trip you will visit one of the most amazing sites which is about 2500 years old. Takht-e Jamshid or Persepolis is one of the ancient cities of Iran, located in Marvdasht (Fars province). The construction of Takh-e Jamshid, which was the glorious capital of Achaemenids, started in 512 BC by Darius I and finished after 150 years by his descendants. Historians believe that Persepolis was burnt in fire. Some say that it was set on fire accidently but many people believe it was Alexander the Great who torched it. It was consisted of a number of palaces such as: Apadana Palace, Hadish Palace, Tachara, Queen Palace etc. Takht-e Jamshid with 125 square meters area is the most famous Iranian historical site. Persepolis absorbs thousands of visitors who have Iran tour.
